This past weekend, the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital was treated to an outpouring of community support and spirited competition at the 7th annual Chip in for Children golf tournament. Held on June 3rd, the event shattered its previous fundraising records, marking a memorable milestone in the history of the tournament.

The sun shone brightly over the greens, reflecting the same warmth and goodwill that radiated from every participant. We saw an astounding turnout with 20 foursomes, making up a total of 80 enthusiastic players who were ready to take a swing for a good cause.

A crucial factor in the tournament’s success was the generosity of our suppliers and partners. Each one of the 18 holes was sponsored, underscoring the wide-reaching support for the event and the cause it champions. Their backing not only elevated the event but also helped us to rally further support, ultimately boosting the total funds raised.

The day was full of excitement and not just from the fierce competition. Players had the opportunity to purchase mulligans, lending an edge to the game and an additional boost to our fundraising efforts. The prize drawing was another highlight of the day. Prizes had been generously donated by members of the community, and the eagerness to win was only matched by the thrill of contributing to a noble cause. Additional cash donations were also collected, rounding off a day of giving, golf, and good-hearted fun.

When we tallied the funds at the end of the day, we were blown away. We had raised nearly $9,500, significantly surpassing our previous record of $6,400. Our joy was immeasurable; the community’s support had exceeded our wildest expectations. But the good news didn’t stop there. Thanks to our company match program, we were able to double the impact of the generous contributions made by our associates, partners, family, and friends, enabling us to make a donation of more than $19,000 to the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital!

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us on the greens, sponsored a hole, donated a prize, or contributed in any way to this record-breaking event. Your support will make a significant impact on the lives of the children at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

Amid all the fun and fundraising, we must not forget to tip our hats to the winning team. Their skillful display on the golf course earned them nothing but pride and well-deserved bragging rights – a victory as sweet as any trophy! Congratulations to Blanke Andert, Jack Coleman, Noah Nelson, and Aidan McConnel for their impressive score of 12 under.

As we reflect on this year’s tournament, we are not just celebrating our fundraising achievement. We are also celebrating the strength and spirit of our community, which came together to support those who need it most. We are already looking forward to the 8th annual event with anticipation, aiming to make it even more successful and impactful.

Once again, thank you to everyone involved for making this year’s event a resounding success. Your generous support will go a long way in helping the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital continue their vital work, providing exceptional care for our community’s children. See you on the greens next year!
